Online selling has been a great source for extra income for years now. People from all over the world go through their homes and take everything they don’t need and post it online with the hopes that people will be keen enough to buy those items. A category of products that people seem to always have around their homes is the electronics category, and if you are one of those people then you should definitely look at the option to sell electronics online. This is a great way for you to make some extra money and de-clutter your phone at the same time, but before you start, here are a few things that you should try to do every time you want to sell something.
Try including measurements
This may sound silly, but it is actually a big reason of why people usually have so many product returns. Pictures can be misleading and even Google-ing the item won’t help for some people, so before you post something online make sure to give as many details as you can and measurements are a great detail so share. Measurements like the height, width and weight of a device are great details to add and it will stop customers from being able to complain that they were misled about the size of the item you are trying to sell.
Phones are one of the most returned items, so try to stay away from them
One of the biggest no-no’s when you want to sell electronics online is selling mobile phones. Over the years, people have figured out that they can order a phone online, use it for a few weeks and then simply return it claiming that it doesn’t work. You getting the phone back is the best case scenario and that is because a lot of the time people actually take the phones apart and sell the parts and simply return the shell of the phone in which case you are stuck with a useless item and still have to refund the customer if you want to get good reviews, and in the world of online selling reviews are everything.
Actually sell items that have value
Everyone thinks that just because an electronic item is theirs and because they have taken care of it that they can get good money for it, when in reality, that’s not the case. Before you post an item online, do some research and see if there is actually any value to it, regardless of the state that it is in. If you see that the same devices that are in perfect state are not selling or not even in demand, then give up right away. You will have to take a lot of pictures and write some great descriptions for an item that most likely won’t sell, and that is a big waste of time.
As we mentioned before, there is no better way to make some extra money than to sell electronics online. Go through your home and look for devices that really have some good value to them and then simply try to implement the do’s we have included in this article and watch your items sell and your home de-clutter all at the same time.
